Gulliver's Travels

Last month I mentioned that Adrian Bradbury was considering a new direction for his Business Customised Stamp Sheets and at the time he very kindly provided me with a sneak preview of the future.  At STAMPEX Adrian gave me his permission to share this image with readers of this web site and we are delighted to be able to share this potential new sheet with you. We think its great but it would be great if you would take a minute and let us and Adrian know what you think. To this end I have set up a blog entry over at the Keep Smiling Blog to enable you to have your say.

Please let Adrian know what you think and help shape the future of our hobby. (09/03)

  2. Like most Bradbury sheets it is absolutely hideous. Bradbury has adopted a boring, lazy cookie-cutter approach to Smilers - one reason why I stopped buying them a couple of years ago. Just look at the Preserved Locomotives or the E-Type Jaguar sheets (amongst recent issues) for something stylish and imaginative within the confines of what you can actually do with a sheet of stamps.

  3. I have stopped to collect all business sheets after 2010.just too many and most are trains.this one is ugly and not worth anything anything related to business sheets.

  4. To give a bit of balance to the debate, I have to say I like the sheet - bright and cheerful, informative and the start of a new series. At least it's a passable attempt to move away from some of the tired old themes.

  5. Why not just forget the stamps and issue an Information Sheet? I too will not be adding to his fortune!!! This new Sheet is just awful and a total rip-off - nothing to do with any sort of 'Business' other than his own of making money.

  6. As an aside, I've just taken delivery of the latest two offerings from Buckingham Covers, the only sheets I still habitually collect other then the generics from Royal Mail. And what do we have? Another trains sheet! The photos on the labels are dark and lack contrast. Secondly, an otherwise attractive Spitfire sheet has labels bearing black and white photographs but with some fairly lurid colour titles and emblems covering the bottom part of the pictures. The photographs speak for themselves and should have been left alone. It's all a bit of a mess if you ask me!

  7. I'm sad to see that the next two offerings from Buckingham (The Launch of the Titanic, and Thomas and Friends) are equally horrendous. The final nail in the coffin for me I'm afraid. Anyone want to buy 7 binders of Smilers? :(

  8. @AndrewM1 At last somebody agreeing that these are really just posters with stamps in. Nothing to do with stamp collecting. The worst thing Royal Mail ever did was to allow them to be produced with something other than a tie-in to a business or charity.

  10. @Joseph: Blogs should be used for information and debate, not as a trading platform. Try eBay.
